This is a special year for Salenieku dolomīts, part of the SIA Saulkalne S group – the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Two decades is a significant milestone, a moment to look back not only on how the company has grown and what it has achieved, but also on the role it plays in Ludza Municipality and the local community.
The anniversary year has been made even more special by recognition at the Ludza Municipality Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2025, where Salenieku dolomīts was nominated in two categories. The company took 1st place in the “Benefactor of the Year” category and 3rd place in the “Largest Taxpayer” category.
These awards mean a lot to us because they reflect two essential sides of what Salenieku dolomīts does. On the one hand, it is a stable company that provides jobs and contributes to the local economy through its business activity. On the other, it has always been important to us to give back to the environment and the community we work in.
We are especially proud of 1st place in the “Benefactor of the Year” category. Over the years, Salenieku dolomīts has supported local schools and a range of initiatives that matter to the community. We believe a company’s growth cannot be separated from the place where it operates: in the long run, a strong company can only exist alongside a strong, thriving local community.
3rd place among Ludza Municipality’s largest taxpayers is also an important recognition. Salenieku dolomīts regularly ranks among the municipality’s leading companies in this category, and in our 20th anniversary year it once again confirms the company’s stability and long-term contribution to the region.

For us, 20 years means a great deal accomplished, but also a responsibility to keep growing. That is why we see the recognition we received from Ludza Municipality in our anniversary year not only as an acknowledgement of what we have achieved so far, but also as encouragement to keep going – to develop the company, provide jobs and be part of Ludza Municipality’s growth.
